Eden Youth Sports Foundation Mission Statement
The Eden Youth Sports Foundation is dedicated to providing financial assistance to all disadvantaged youth to have the opportunity to engage in their demonstrated sport. Its mission is to foster personal growth and to develop their talent which contribute to their future success in their chosen sport.
How you can receive funding
Eden Youth Sports Foundation will grant an applicant a sum of money to assist them in reaching their goals. The funds can be used to cover many different aspects of competing – see “Further Information on Foundation” below.
Both individuals and teams can apply for funding.

Eligibility Criteria
- Aged 12-17 years. Applicants must be turning 12-17 the calendar year of the competition. Ages are applicable for both team and individual applications.
- Resident of Eden NSW locality.
- Have a demonstrated talent in sport.
- Shows signs of progressing in chosen sport.
What does the committee look for when assessing applications?
First and foremost, an applicant must meet all eligibility requirements. In addition to reviewing each applicant based on their own merit we will also look for the following:
- Talent support letters from an appropriate professional person that directly engages on the applicant‘s talent and clearly stipulate what achievements they have attained.
- Clear concise information. Setting out exactly what the applicant requires and why.
What is the purpose of the support letter?
The purpose of the support letter is to provide evidence and acknowledgment of the applicant’s talent. The Committee relies heavily on this document when reviewing applications.
Who should be the ‘Professional’ person writing the Talent Support Letter?
This professional person needs to confidently address the applicant’s talent and be directly related to that area of talent and should know the applicant and their achievements.
Here are examples of appropriate support people under each area of talent:
- Coaches
- Sporting Organisations/teams
- School sports coordinator
What is demonstrated talent?
A demonstrated talent is one which has developed over time and can be identified by an applicant’s achievements and verified by professionals in that area of talent.
What can I apply for?
Eden Youth Sports Foundation Grant can fund:
- Training
- Entry/Competition
- Lessons
- Courses
- Equipment
- Registration Costs
- Uniforms
- Airfares (for the applicant only, to and from their appropriate events)
- Accommodation (e.g. basic/standard hotel room for the applicant and Parent/Carer to attend event)
- Fuel (to and from event)
What if I need help completing the form?
The following people can help you complete the application:

Do I need to complete a report at the conclusion of the event?
Yes, the Foundation would like a report completed after the event. This report is used to monitor the foundation performance and effectiveness and assist in foundation growth.
This reports outlines:
- The outcomes of the funding provided.
- The difference the support made to the awardee.
What is the decision-making process for the Foundation?
Once submitted, all applications are pre-assessed by the Eden Youth Sports Foundation Committee to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria. Then, all eligible applications are submitted to the Eden Sports & Recreation Board for final approval.

Foundation Structure
The Eden Youth Sports Foundation consists of a 5 person representative committee of Club Officials and Club Members currently associated in community sporting clubs within the Eden locality.
The Foundation Committee is chaired by a nominated representative of the Eden Sports & Recreation Club.
Funding for the Foundation is generated from several revenue sources and community contributions.
The major benefactors of financial contributions are Cleanaway – Tomra, the Eden Sports & Recreation Club and fundraising activities conducted throughout the year.
